How to check your TCN status in Florida

By TrustedShield · Last reviewed

Your TCN (Transaction Control Number) is the receipt number for your Live Scan submission. Enter it in FDLE's online TCN lookup to see whether your screening has been processed. The results themselves go to the agency that requested them, not to you.

What the TCN is

Every Live Scan submission gets its own TCN. You receive it at your appointment. Keep it somewhere safe, because your employer, board or the state may ask for it.

How to check your status

  1. 1Open FDLE's TCN lookup and enter your TCN exactly as it was given to you.
  2. 2Wait for the screening to show as complete. For Department of Health license applicants, results usually load within 24 to 72 hours.
  3. 3Once it's complete, the agency or board reviews your results. That review can take longer than the screening itself.

The lookup covers screenings from roughly the last six months.

If nothing shows up

  • Check that you typed the TCN correctly.
  • Confirm with your fingerprinting provider that your prints were submitted. If we printed you, call or text us.
  • If your screening is held for missing information, such as a Social Security number, contact the agency that requested it. Healthcare screenings go to AHCA's background screening unit.

Rules and processing times can change. Always follow the instructions from the agency that asked for your fingerprints.
